About the Author
Jay H. Miller, KK5IM, is the author of the Pocket Guide to Collins Amateur Radio Equipment. He is also the author and publisher of several railroad history books and is a self-styled industrial archeologist. A professional publications designer by trade, he moonlights as a restorer and enhancer of Collins amateur equipment and does contract engineering work in the broadcast industry.
A sixth-generation native Texan, Miller graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and holds an Amateur Extra class license. He is a member of the Dallas Amateur Radio Club, the ARRL and is a Mason.
His other interests include pistol shooting, woodworking and gardening. Miller and his wife Laynie have two daughters and make their home in Dallas.
