While this picture kind of duplicates one on the previous page, I wanted to share the sepia look with you. Due to my occasional work in the broadcast industry I've accumulated a lot more equipment. The clock is a Selfwinding Clock Company, Naval Observatory Time model which came from WAZF in Yazoo City, Mississippi (given to me by WB5WUX). It was recently restored by a local hirologist and keeps excellent time.
Down on the floor you can see a 891-R triode which came out of the RCA BTA-10F at KGNC in Amarillo, Texas. I grew up in Amarillo so KGNC holds a special place in my heart. Please take a look at the KGNC Project story in the Broadcast Equipment section. |

| There is just never enough room! I built a new operating desk in a corner of the shack for a KWM-2A station I completely restored last winter. The SC-301 is one of my reproduction kits. The table lamp is leftover from my previous obsession-- trains. | |

At left is a "holding pattern" rack which is for equipment not currently in service but too cool to store in the warehouse! On the very top is a CU-872A antenna coupler which couples up to six receivers to one antenna. I completely restored this rig and will use it for my listening post. Other items include a GR Modulation Meter, a Collins 75A-2, an ancient National scope, some patch bays and a CBS Audimax III ALC. To the right is a detail shot of my antenna transfer switches and coupling system. The Collins 180S-1 is used to match the Wyndom antenna for 75 meters. I redecorated the Heathkit SWR meter into more appropriate livery! The switch at the upper left is for VHF/UHF while the old reliable rotary switch selects the antennas. I still have to plug in the proper feed line for each station. Collins DL-1 is just taking up space right now. |
