Collins 20V-2 Transmitter

I found a new Collins 20V-2 transmitter to replace the old 300J which I recovered a few years ago, This rig is in perfect shape and had been converted from a 20V to a 1KW 20V-2. Stay tuned for progress reports!

Mark McCurley, KE4LPD, and I loaded the 20V on a trailer and took it out to J.B. Jenkins' barn. This puppy is big and heavy and J.B. had a place to store and work on it. Here she is, all ready to assemble. The iron sits on left in front of some rack mounted test gear. The desk is an old SAC station desk J. B. is going to use in his museum.
See how clean the rig is! The power supply caps are in the bottom. The rig uses a pair of 4-400s in the final and a pair of 4-250s in the modulator. It had been convereted to 75 meter operation before I got it. J.B. Jenkins, W5EU, ponders a loose part! One of these days real soon we'll get the rig on the air and feed it to his 4-Square array!

Pete Zilliox, K5PZ, is now the proud owner of this fine machine! He just HAD to have it!
